I've had the TSB account for just over a year now and overall have been pleased with the service. UK based centre staff are excellent, although the new app has been a nightmare recently.

    Which account do you have?

The Classic Plus, I've stopped getting the cashback on purchases but the general service has impressed me enough to stick with them.

Halifax also sometimes have good cashback offers on purchases as long as you're regularly using their debit card.

    Its around 50 pounds

Santander offer me nothing and never have so i want out. Halifax offer the £3 a month. not much but at least its more than santander offer me

Santander are offering you 5% interest on your savings (or 3% without even having to change your current account) That isn't nothing.

One of the golden rules with financial matters is not to 'dump' a bank or building society just because you are unhappy with them. They don't care if you close your account, there are many more people applying for accounts each day to replace you.

However, you stand to lose access to accounts which might be attractive, you risk not being able to open an account with them if you decide one day to go back.

Keeping a banking relationship going, even if you don't use it as a main account, gives you options and flexibility. And one of the benefits of having options and flexibility is it usually means getting better returns on your money.

Above all else, having more than one current account across two different banking groups is a good insurance against problems with your main account. That for me would be a priority.
