Has anyone visited one of these stores...and able to report back on the outstanding - or otherwise savings on offer??

Reading trade press reports, it looks like the Australian buyers might have over estimated the value of their purchase.

£37million of stocks they don't actual want to sell at retail price. Seems a lot, but not in the grand scheme of things, once margins and VAT are tken into account, I'd say.

From time to time the local branch of Bunnings has clearance price Homebase products by the pallet load.... if the prices in these Homebase stores are comparable then there will be some bargains to be had.

....so long as you don't mind a bit of dust.

Visited one last week, there was 30% of plumbing, 30% off electrical and 40% of limited building materials. But you need to bear in mind their prices were probably expensive to begin with.

There were lots of pallets of "stuff" from different branches around the country
