Claiming an old PPI

I Have found an old loan credit agreement customer copy from a loan i had in 1993 which is dated and signed by the bank( Nat West). The details on the agreement does not mention any PPI. The loan was a fixed rate of 18%. Would it be worth me enquiring about PPI on this loan.

If you have the agreement and there is no mention of PPI then you didnt have it.

If you had PPI it would be shown on the agreement with the monetary amount of the PPI premium. A requirement under the consumer credit act.

  • Ok thanks for the replies.
I did have a £5500 PPI payout from RBS a few years ago from a loan i took out in 2000 which took into account other loans i had with them upto 2011.
I think this nat west loan was part paid by a later loan
I was just hoping that using this credit agreement as a starting point may of opened up a £6000 loan i had with Nat West in 1996 that i don't have information about.

I don't see your logic here at all.

Why would this loan provide you with information about another one later on?

It doesn't matter whether the loan was for £6000 or £60, if it didn't have PPI attached then no PPI will be refunded.

Have you considered simply asking the Bank directly if their records show PPI was paid on the 1996 loan?

Do note that 1996 is now 22 years ago.
  • We've recently used MSE recommended resolver.co.uk tool to ask consumers to check whether we ever had PPI. No harm registering and sending an email to Natwest through resolver website. Good luck. We spent an hour using the site and sending PPI enquires/ mis-sold complaints to 9 companies in total. If we get anything back it will be a bonus x

Do note that Resolver is only "recommended" because it is partly-owned by MSE.

The same results can be had by simply contacting the individual lenders directly.

The OP's situation is different though. They have the agreement and can see that no PPI has been added. So, no point using a tool that harvests your data for marketing to make a complaint about something they do not have.
