Equita letter for a cancelled parking fine

So in July, I received a Parking Eye letter regarding being parked in my local casino stating I was parked illegally and stating I didn't enter my registration plate into the casino terminal. Now, I always ensure that I enter my reg number to avoid issues such as this and I was adamant that I had done so. However, this has happened a few times so I went into the casino and told the receptionist as usual and they cancelled the fine and stamped my Parking Eye letter as usual with their cancelled stamp and their address.

I then decided to appeal this via the correct channels. After much tooing and frooing, they advised they cannot see any info regarding fines being cancelled etc and parking eye advised they have not had any cancellations regarding this fine. I advised this was not the case and sent the letter as proof showing the cancelled stamp. POPLA advised there was nothing they could do and advised me to go back to the casino and speak to them.

In the meantime another letter arrived with the same info and demanding payment, So I did the same and went into the casino and got another stamp on the letter and another receptionist assured me it was cancelled. They also advised a lot of customers had received tickets in July because there was an issue with the terminal so I was right in thinking I had put my reg plate in.

So now, a full 7/8 months later, I have received a letter from Equita demanding payment. I am going to write to them and advise the fine has been cancelled and I have proof of this. But I am slightly worried given the fact that I have sent proof of the cancellation, and they are still chasing me for it. I have worked for a DM company before so I know all about DCAs etc but it is slightly concerning that POPLA couldn't help me out on this when I have the clear proof of it being cancelled.

Can anyone see any reason as to why I should be worried here at all?

    No.

It is widely believed that PE only involve Equita when they realise they have no chance of winning a court case.

Equita/PE, sister companies btw, are chasing you in the hope of getting something from you.

    Stay resolute.
