Win an overnight stay for two at the historic four star Maids Head Hotel in Norwich. Located in Tombland, across the road from Norwich Cathedral, the hotel claims to be the oldest in Britain, based on the site being used continuously for hospitality since the late 11th century,when the first Norman Bishop of Norwich, Herbert de Losinga had his original palace here. Norwich historian Walter Rye, who also looked after the Maids Head from 1889 to 1895, considered it to be “the oldest Norman site in the city after the Castle”.
