Equita Debt Collectors Letter After LBCCC

Around july last year, I recieved a letter from Parking Eye about a PCN for staying in the Park Inn by radisson. I was in fact picking up a passenger from the Hotel.
Unfortunately, not knowing much about private parking charges I appealed to Parking eye. This being before i read about these forums, I did not follow the typical procedure. They did reject my appeal. I did also recieve a LBCCC which I did not know or understand much about before reading this forum so ignored, but I also recieved, recently, a debt collectors letter from Equita after the LBCCC.
Is this Normal? What do I do from this point on?

Post four of the Newbies Sticky covers debt collectors completely, the rest of the thread will inform you fully about private parking.

Equita is PEs inhouse debt collector (both firms owned by crapita - spit) PE use equita when they have "cocked up" or have not got authority from landowner to pursue this thru court

as your ticket was last july , think for a second , why have PE not issued court papers

So would you suggest I ignore the any further letters too? As I have with all other letters.

Ignoring is unwise with PE as they have turned into about the most litigious of all the PPCs, so going hard for a cancellation by complaining to the hotel - However this is best done earlier, before debt collectors are involved.

The only other thing is to sit it out to see if PE issues court papers and use the time to read-up on how to robustly respond to an LBC and how to prepare a defence so you are ready if they do.

If PE are using Equita and have not sued you then they are unlikely to do so. But it's a threat hanging over your head for SIX YEARS and is a horrible place to be. Certainly they are not worthy of payment, having IMHO offered you no contract worth considering, nothing of value for that ridiculous amount of 'penalty' money.

But best bet, is complain LOUDLY to the Hotel and get this damn threat cancelled, get the friend you were picking up to complain as well on your behalf and keep going on at them. Try an email to the CEO of the Hotel Chain, even if abroad!

Just 4 weeks ago, the private parking industry's little game and 'outrageous scam' (Hansard), has been finally been condemned unanimously by MPs in Parliament in the private parking Code of Practice Bill debate, where (guess who?) PARKINGEYE were named and shamed along with their Trade Body, the BPA.

Watch it, read it, get it. Complain - no polite asking - and please tell us when this works.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Hi all,
Just wanted to say I have sent emails in the forms of complaints to emails I could find online.
However, I have a couple questions.
    Firstly
As I stated I have already recieved the LBCCC. But i haven't replied it in the time stated. I just wanted to know what are the legal consequences for my father, who is the keeper and who I started this thread for, considering the letter from equita was sent after the LBCCC

    Secondly
The keeper has also received a notice for a very similar situation of the thread named below. I could not attach a link as it says I am a new user. The circumstances of the situation are also very similar. Should i start a new thread for this matter?
Furthermore having read through the thread and not being so knowledgeable on the law and such legal matters it seems it is a very lengthy matter that requires patience. Being a young pre-Univetsity student myself, I don't have such time on my hands.
What would be the most time effective process for me to undergo.
I apologise for my hastiness however due to my father's poor English, he is not able to complete these tasks himself.

Ps. I have sent the template to PCM posted on the Newbies thread and habe also recieved a rejection of the appeal.

"PCM PARKING CHARGE AT HAYES AND HARLINGTON"

    Thanks
