DRO - debt still showing as defaulting and open

Options
Hi all,

I’ll be really grateful for any help given. My partner has a DRO which was discharged on the 31st January 2018. From a recent credit report he has found that one creditor of seven has still got the account as open and defaulting throughout the period of his DRO and to date.

He has contacted them and they have told him that legislation allows them to keep it open and defaulting until it has been discharged. When querying why it is still defaulting after discharge they said this is a mistake.

We thought that all debts should now show as settled or satisfied with a £0 on the account and should be classed as closed. As all his other debts on the DRO are. We have contacted the insolvency people and they said they can’t help.

They won’t budge on their stance, where do we stand? Who can help?

Thank you.

Contact the credit reporting site(s) and advise them. They will want proof.
  • Thanks. I have contacted Experian and hopefully they can help.
