If I move out of my Mum's will I lose my PIP?

  • yes I'm aware that her carer's will stop. and oh right okay I just thought I would be taken off it because if I can move away from my grandma who is caring from me they might doubt my claim and take me off it.

    Different health situation but if it's any reassurance I receive enhanced rate PIP for both parts and live alone.

    The PIP award is based on your needs not who cares for you.
    Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.
  • I spoke to my grandma today and she is insistent that my pip will stop if I move out with my partner because I am showing them I can do things for myself it’s a difficult situation to be in because my grandma is upset I’m leaving and says these things whereas my partner disagrees with her completely and I’m just stuck in the middle not knowing the truth

    Grandma is wrong. You are moving from your grandma helping to your partner helping you, no change BUT PIP has nothing to do with who cares for you.
