Solidor Quote Help?

To cut a long story short, i have my eye on a particular Solidor for the back of my house.

Quote 1:£995 inc fitting and vat plus 1 year guarantee from fitter. No credit card payment allowed.
Quote 2:£1.300 inc fitting and vat plus 20 year parts and labour guarantee. Credit cards accepted.

Can't decide between the two, pay more for better guarantees and credit card protection or save £305 with less guarantees.:money:
I wanted to compare with Endurance Doors but ED have no reviews whatsoever but Solidor do have reviews on Trustpilot.

I would pay extra and go for 2nd quote with that huge 20 year guarantee, although Solidor have a ten year warranty on their doors, credit card protection with section 75 is very valuable if things go wrong.
If you don't use a credit card they can fob you off with excuses if the door warps within a few years.

That 20 year guarantee is a huge insurance policy because i have heard of these doors warping before ten years, and also with credit card protection if you pay over £100, it's a no brainer go for the second quote!
Enjoy everyday like it's your last!

Is it worth £300 pound more, i might not even use the guarantee, Trustpilot reviews are mixed on Solidor so i might roll a dice.

I am wary of any guarantee saying 20 years. Think about this for a moment - a new home comes with 10 years, a Kia car with 7 years, so 20 years on a door sets alarm bells ringing. Will the installers still be around to honour the guarantee - highly unlikely. Will Solidor still exist - highly unlikely. Is it insurance backed - OK if it is but what are all the exclusion terms? In essence it is probably a guarantee that one can never claim against once a few years have passed.

There are doors being advertised near me at £900, and I know that if I contact a lesser advertised, or known, local company this price will be undercut by a useful sum - possibly a few hundreds. There will still be a guarantee, credit card payments are accepted, so all round why are you you fixated on your two Solidor quotes?

Perhaps you should be thinking laterally. or considering a Plan B?
