Economy 7 meter EDF Trap
I am trapped into EDF tariffs due to EDF not changing my meter from Economy 7meter to a standard meter, even though I am no longer using an economy 7tariff with them. EDF have totalised the current E7 meter for their use only.
When you submit info To Other Suppliers,When Trying To switch, the meter still shows as E7 and they will not accept me on any other rate on Any other energy provider as a standard rate customer only E7, which is not financially beneficial for me.
Any ideas as to how i can change supplier?

Many suppliers will add both for single rate use.0

and many won't. You may need to get the meter swapped for a single tariff one.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0

Billing an ECO7 meter as a standard meter, isn't a divine right - Its a private arrangement that only some suppliers will enter into with a customer, which is not recorded on the National/Regional meter data bases.
However, EDF if asked will swap the ECO7 meter for a Standard one which then allows problem fee Switches
From my own experience, the EDF process of the meter change can be a bit log winded and you have keep after them, but they will do it0 -
Or alternatively switch to the cheapest tariffs in the UK for electricity and move to one of the top Eco 7 suppliers such as Iresa energy. at 21 p a day, 11.5 day rate, 8 p night rate .
You will struggle to top that on any single rate supplier. Then try and use the heavy usage appliances as much as possible within the cheap 7 hrs ( which is up to 8.30 am in BST )
Try inputting your yearly eco 7 usage into Uswitch ,with day/night percentages and see how they stack up against the lowest tariffs single rate only. I think you may be surprised that its cheaper to stay with the 2 rater !0
