Direct debit indemnity- how long for bank to claim

Last month, there was an error made in paying my nursery where double fees were taken. The nursery said they could not return any funds but could hold the credit in my account to cover the next months fees. This wasn’t feasible for me as would have left me a lot of money down for the month which was otherwise accounted for. I raised an indemnity claim with my bank Santander Who returned the funds the same day. The issue is, the nursery keep seeing the credit in my account and I know every month that we pay fees are going to query why there is sauch a substantial credit still. How long will it take for my bank to recover those monies from the nursery? Is it worth contacting them or is there a set time limit/ process for them to get the money back from the merchant?

It's really not your concern, the nursery need to make a note that their balance will decrease by the amount you were overcharged at some point - the nursery can deduct it now from your account with them and move it into a more generic account in their own records.
