Good evening all

We are considering making a gap in a chimney breast and having a cooker installed as a lot of people have these days, making a bigger hole and fitting a concrete lintel

Asking around to find out the pros and cons and really the legality do we need to get building regulations inspections?

We had a door relocated once and had to get build regs in for that so thought I'd ask opinion although I do have a friend who has this done, well her hubby did it, and says it's a fairly simple job to knock a bigger hole, place lintel and plaster a decent they did u have any inspection her biggest changes complaint would be the mess

Also do I need to tell neighbours as its a joint wall

Thank you for your help
With love, POSR <3
