Solicitor's letter recieved

Hello
I received a parking charge that I felt was unreasonable from a local IPC registered company
I waited until it had been referred to a debt collection agency before I did anything
I then copied the standard letter from this site to the parking company's appeals form on their website and got the standard
"Your appeal has been submitted and will be processed accordingly." response, that was over 3 weeks ago
In the meantime, the debt collection agency have referred the case to solicitors who are saying I have 14 days before they refer it to their litigation dept.. and are threatening CCJs etc.
What should my next step be? Which of the 3 parties - the parking company, the debt collectors or their solicitors should I be contacting, how and what should I be saying?
Thanks in advance

and what makes you think this latest letter is from an actual solicitor ?

and please dont say because it has a solicitors letterhead on it !

anyone can add a letterhead of any kind to a letter

who does it say to make payment too for example ?

who does the phone number tally with when you google it ?

Everyone is politely asked to read up on this in the Newbies FAQ thread near the top of the forum before starting a new thread

Go there now to understand better the game you are now caught up with.

You are now in the latter stages of the process.

Too late to appeal, but had you done so in time a rejection was inevitable

Interesting, the solicitors in question are QDR and the second result when you google them is this forum
    forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=5728634
so it sounds like they are a debt recovery company themselves...

You don't need to Google to find threads here where you already are.

Use 'search this forum' on the front page of this sub-forum, and put in QDR and read all the other dozens of threads, where we've already discussed this (saves us repeating ourselves and makes you well informed). It will put you ahead of the little game, and you might well find threads about the same parking firm, and see what happened next.

Also, complain to your MP about this (currently) still legalised harassment.

You should click on these links and watch the MPs debate in Parliament. Just 4 weeks ago, the private parking industry's little game and 'outrageous scam' (Hansard), has been finally been condemned unanimously by MPs in Parliament in the private parking Code of Practice Bill debate.

Watch it, read it, to really get it!

These are some of the comments made by the MPs in Parliament concerning the unregulated parking industry (Feb 2018):

''Rip-offs from car park Cowboys must stop'', unfair treatment, signage deliberately confusing to ensure a PCN is issued, ''years of abuse by rogue parking companies'', bloodsuckers; ''the current system of regulation is hopeless, like putting Dracula in charge of the blood-bank'', extortionate fines, rogue operators, ''sense of injustice'', unfair charges and notices, wilfully misleading, signage is a deliberate act to deceive or mislead, ''confusing signs are often deliberate, to trap innocent drivers'', unreasonable, a curse, harassing, operating in a disgusting way, ''appeals service is no guarantee of a fair hearing'', loathed, outrageous scam, dodgy practice, outrageous abuse, unscrupulous practices, ''the British Parking Association is as much use as a multi-storey car park in the Gobi desert'', and finally, by way of unanimous conclusion: ''we need to crack down on these rogue companies. They are an absolute disgrace to this country. Ordinary motorists and ordinary residents should not have to put up with this''.

Also, robo-claim ''solicitors'' and debt collectors were specifically condemned.

These are the exact words used, so you should quote them to your MP in a complaint and ask him/her to contact Sir Greg Knight MP if he wants further information about this scam and learn more about the Bill as it proceeds through Parliament.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
