Money not taken for online purchase

Nine days ago I shopped online got a confirmation email and money was reserved from my bank account. Two days later the amount is no longer pending, hasn’t been taken by retailer and all my available funds are there to be spent.
Goods have been dispatched and on speaking to the retailer they have my payment.
Anyone know what has happened here?

I wouldn!!!8217;t normally be concerned but coincidentally today I was informed by my bank of a fraudulent transaction on my account, which they stopped. The retailer in this instance was a different one from the one I made the initial purchase from and was for a much greater amount. Can!!!8217;t work out how there could be a connection but paranoia has kicked in!0

Pretty much typical of an offline card used at an offline terminal. It happens to me quite a lot that debits appear a couple of days after payment is authorised. An authorised payment sometimes appears as pending when the retailer has not cashed out thereby claiming the payment. I'd say your problem is due to an error but that's all that can be said: You need to contact your bank to get the full story.
If you have covered your bases by contacting your bank and the retailer I don't understand why you are bothered about it.0 -
Something has gone wrong somewhere in the payment process.
The retailer will realise eventually, they have 6 months (I think) to get the money.
So keep the funds there for when that happens.0 -
The money cleared from my bank account today. What concerned me was that my bank blocked my card yesterday due to a fraudulent transaction and they said the amount to this retailer had not been taken and was not pending. It now looks like it was captured at the point of sale. Thank you for your replies.0
