Switching tariffs with same supplier....

....via comparison site.
Just wondering about the recent British Gas All Online tariff that has to be done via a comparison site. If you are already with BG and switch to this tarrif, is usually more quickly completed than a switch to another supplier?
Under the terms of its Standard Licence Conditions, a supplier that agrees to a change of tariff has to action the change within 5 working days. This is treated as a mutual variation of contract and there is no ‘cooling off’ period. If you apply via a PCW, it is likely that the supplier will not receive a request to change tariffs until a day later than if you apply via the supplier’s own website. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
