Overcharged for car tax direct debit

I recently changed the bank account my car tax direct debit was being taken from (NOT using the account switch service). I was charged £20.12 on the 2nd Jan from the old account, but have been charged £42 from the new account in February and a further £21 today, so it seems I have overpaid by a month. Is there any way to resolve this?

If you'd phoned the DVLA instead of registering to ask on here you'd have your answer by now.

^^^ how to make someone feel welcome in one easy move!

I think what bigisi is trying to say, is that you'd be better phoning the DVLA customer services instead of asking for opinions on here. :)
You can have results or excuses, but not both.

Indeed. The only possible "correct" answer is "Contact DVLA", which is what bigisi advised, albeit not so directly.

Or, the other only possible correct answer is contact your bank, invoke the Direct Debit Guarantee and ask for your money back!

Then the OP risks potentially driving an untaxed vehicle.

    Phone DVLA.
