Are fitted single ovens a "standard size" ?

generally yes, check the dimensions of the one you want to buy, they are designed to fit a 600mm wide cabinet.0

As I found out recently the height and width are fairly standard but the depths can vary a lot. Because of obstructions at the back due to gas fittings for the hob you would need to measure this. In my case I needed a 52cm depth oven and the hob connection was 6cm down from the top and 10cm across. Some ovens have a slope or cut out to accommodate this.
I went to Curry's and they could not tell me the depths!
I ended up looking at the AO web site that has all the information.
I ended up buying one of these from a cheaper retailer.

Thanks - we have a dying Whirlpool-AKP745IX -
That appears to be 564mm deep0 -
According to the diagram on AO it is actually 54.2 deep and needs a 55 recess. The 56.4 depth probably include the facia. There also appears to be a decent cut out for the hob connection and it also states that it is 16amp needing hardwiring by an expert.0

Does AO fitting not include hardwiring then ?0
-
Yes it does but its about £100 with disposal and taking packing away.
Currys have half price fitting on some ovens at the moment.0 -

Wondering what sort of "expert" it requires?
