AMEX Platinum - Supplementary Cards?

I can't find my answer anywhere at the moment.

I just keep getting marketing material from AMEX offering me the Platinum Card, and the eligibility does say I'm 95% likely to be accepted for it, and when working out my sums for current travel insurance and other travel expenditure, the Platinum Card seems well worth it, and a few days ago I applied and I'm still waiting for a response.

I currently have the Gold card, which offers double points for foreign transactions, triple points for using the AMEX travel booking services.
Although I've noticed that the Platinum card doesn't offer such bonuses like this, apart from their travel services offers double, opposed to triple. But it does offer free supplementary green and gold cards.

Now my question is, assuming I ordered a Gold Supplementary card, would I receive Gold benefits such as trouble and triple points? Or do they still stick to platinum benefits?

All those benefits apply to the *account* which would still be a Platinum account.

The reason they limit the number of complimentary supplementary cards is because each supplementary cardholder can enrol for all the hotel status benefits etc (which cost Amex money!).

Unsure about this but judging from Amex's promotions I've received supplementary cards earn whatever is available to earn for the main account holder and are added to the main account and benefit the main account holder. The supplementary card holder doesn't get anything as far as I know.

Supplementary Platinum card holders get all the hotel status benefits, as well as lounge access.

That's why you're charged £170/year for each one (after the first).
