Smart Meter Data & EDF

Hi All

Just after a bit of advice from someone who already has an EDF smartmeter.

Mine was fitted a while ago, but when I go into the EDF website, it is not updating me with my consumption data. ie, the amount of money I owe only ever changes when I pay something. According to the website they owe me around £700 but this is because they are not updating the amount of gas & electricity that I am using. The only why it updates, is if I add a manual reading which totally removes the reason for a smart meter.

The data is available and I can see the graphs in the smart meter section.

I've reverted to running a spreadsheet to keep an eye on my bills

am I missing something obvious?

Thanks

If its anything like BG then its billing cycle is quarterly rather than monthly. There for readings only matter at the end of three months when they 'bill' you. Your monthly payments aren't a bill as such, just an estimate for what EDF think you're going to use over that three months.

Thanks - it kinda defeats the purpose of the smartmeter if you don't actually know your current bill, especially if I'm sending them the meter readings every 30 minutes. It's the main point of those silly adverts on the TV.

No its not the main point at all. Your energy supplier gets a reading every 30 minutes and you get to see what you spend via the In Home Display
