No water, what to check first?

A quick google says pipes can fracture at around -6; we will have to waiting. Heating on now.0

Water back on now, all seems ok, I will have to check.
Although if the pipe froze behind the sink unit, cannot see anything. And what can I do to prevent it happening again? It will mean removing the sink unit at the very least.0 -

I would have thought it unlikely to freeze indoors, unless you are in a very cold area.
Easiest solution is to leave the cupboard door under the sink open, so heat from the room gets into the cupboard.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
