No water, what to check first?

    A quick google says pipes can fracture at around -6; we will have to waiting. Heating on now.

    But your heating system uses the same water pumped round that is already in it, it does not use the incoming water to the house unless you need to top up the system.

    Water back on now, all seems ok, I will have to check.

    Although if the pipe froze behind the sink unit, cannot see anything. And what can I do to prevent it happening again? It will mean removing the sink unit at the very least.

    I would have thought it unlikely to freeze indoors, unless you are in a very cold area.

    Easiest solution is to leave the cupboard door under the sink open, so heat from the room gets into the cupboard.
