yes true, but they have to also show that they need to ask for the information in the first place.
My post was more about causing them some annoyance than it was genuinely about GDPR (I'm snowed in with time on my hands). Nothing has to be in place anyway until May 25th and even then its unlikely that enforcement will take place unless any company has done nothing at all to work towards compliance.
