Car rear-ended my car, insurance renewal issue

Options
A car slid into my car today have had the bumper checked no obvious damage, other car has cracked numberplate. My car is fully comp, I understand that I should let my insurer know although I will not be making a claim. I have renewed my insurance with another company this starts in a weeks time. do i have to notify both insurance providers, and will the new insurer requote.

    Yes and yes.
  • There's a fairly good rule of thumb when deciding whether to disclose things to an insurer. If you don't need to but you, it doesn't matter. If you do need to but you don't the consequences could be disastrous.

So, if in doubt, tell 'em ! :)

All insurance companies involved are aware, our current insurer has recorded it as an incident, in case we find damage at a later date. Future insurer has said deal with our current insurer, although we have a policy with them due to start in a few day,
the other party's insurance, have accepted their client slid into our car. No claims are being made , no damage has been done to my NCD. Have paperwork from my insurer to support this. Phew
