I have found out that my wife has been paying a monthly insurance policy on a laptop she purchased nearly 8 years ago. The computer is not in a good way but still runs. What is the best course of action? As the policy is still running and the computer is in our possession should I take it back to them and get it fixed or just cancel the policy and cut our losses. I don't want to do the sums but I'm sure we could have bought a new top-of-the-line laptop 5 or 6 times over. Thoughts?

Cancel the insurance now if you no longer require it.DallasR1980 wrote: »What is the best course of action?
Unfortunately, you don't have any entitlement to a refund of earlier policy payments as it is (and was) your own responsibility to cancel the insurance.
As for taking it to them to "fix", I'd check the policy terms to see if you are covered for a possible repair to an eight year old computer. You have said it still runs, so what would they "repair" exactly?0
