hi all, i have a few questions but basically, we have a house with an L shape at the rear, one side of the L has the kitchen (with wide patio doors) and the other has the lounge with the same - the space inside the 'L' is 4m x4m. on the opposite side to the kitchen is the garage wall.
essentially two sides are house and the other is the garage.
we want to put a conservatory / extension with bi fold doors into the garden to open things up so we have got a few quotes for doing this but we cant believe the cost so thought it would be worth asking if its reasonable.
the two quotes range between 25 and 33k which considering 2.5 of the three walls are already present seems alot for a floor, doors and the roof (to us)
so i guess my questions are:
thanks in advance,
ed

so i guess my questions are:
- are we wrong?
- what could we do to reduce the costs?
- is there anything we need to know with regards to planning as they have given conflicting advice when quoting us
- what is the actual line between conservatory or extension
thanks in advance,
ed

I'm sorry I don't understand the workings . Do you want an L shaped extension / conny . Is the base /footings and any brickwork there any services need shifting . sketch me a idea of whats there and whats needed. Do you need new doors or keep the existing ? hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0

hi sorry i wasnt very clear:
i have pmd you an image link as apparently im not allowed a url as a new user
in the above image you can see the red square is the area of the conservatory / extension (4x4 m)
yellow is where the bi fold doors would go and the small bit is for a standard utility door (they quoted an extra 1080 for that instead of just bricking it up).
green is where the existing patio doors are.
the ground is a patio (slabs) currently. there are no services that need moving (nothing running under / over), only light and socket (available in the top right of the lounge).
basically we want the wall on the garage side building out to double skin, concrete floor, doors on the front and roof (tile or glass) on the top. we may want to remove the existing patio doors to make it flow better but that would depend on cost.
