Hsbc new mobile app

Went onto the "old" app this morning and was prompted to download the new app, which i have done; but it also prompted me to deactivate the card reader, which I was uncertain about how to go about. I have managed to log into the new app with memorable info without problem. Have tried live chat on hsbc and was advised to contact by phone and have sat on the phone for ages without getting to speak to anyone yet. I just wondered if anyone here can advise please. Its a ipad tablet not a mobile phone.

  • Patience is a virtue as I eventually managed to speak to a very helpful person at hsbc. It appears I needed to delete the old app and open the new app, enter my user name, memorable info and then use my secure key and voila! Done. I'm just not too tech savvy or patient it seems lol.

    ...... but could not make a payment through the new app today. Rang hsbc and they could only suggest using telephone or online website use instead. Ah well..... Technology and it's part in my downfall.
