Help! What time should ESA clear in Ybs?

Does anyone know what time ESA payments clear and show up (via ATM) in Yorkshire building society please? I had to rush to my mother in hospital and am now stranded as my money usually clears by 12.40am latest and it's still not showing in?

Excuse me, you posted a question at 1.40 am. Do you not think that people could actually be sleeping at this time? Or did you think that someone should have been awake to answer your question because you were stranded?

Funds in my bank never clear till after 2.30am.

How very dare you go to sleep.
  • Posts like that always make me think that there is going to be an oblique 'request' for money at some point.

Benefit payments aren't officially late until after midnight on the day they are to be paid. A payment due on a Monday can appear at any time, there is no guarantee that it will be there at 2am, 8am etc.
To the OP, expecting a reply within 40 minutes irrespective of the time of day is being optimistic. Expecting a reply in that timescale in the middle of the night is ridiculous.

  • Even if someone DID reply telling you that !!!8216;yes your money should be in by 12.40am!!!8217; it!!!8217;s not going to help you if it!!!8217;s not. Only the bank and the DWP could have solved it.

I don't believe MSE advertises itself as a 24/7 help forum for emergencies - it is a public forum, how many forums did you sign up to and post for information on YBS batch run times? Did you try and contact YBS during the night - were they helpful?

And suppose someone did reply at 2am, What difference do you think they could make to you being stranded, Words won't make you unstranded. All someone would have said is call DWP in the morning. Simples.
