UKPC Parking Charge

Hi
I have recently received a UKPC parking charge and need some advice.

To set a overview, Me and my girlfriend have bought leasehold flat 7months ago, this flat has UKPC controlled underground parking area. When we purchased the property we had issues arranging the parking permit which led to recieving 2 parking charges from UKPC, even though we were on a excemption list while we waiting for our permits. We were able to fight to get 1 removed and 1 reduced to halve price.

Now 7 months later I have recieved another parking charge, this was while parking in my own spot with the rather expensive permit displayed. The parking charge reason is listed as "Parked Displaying a Permit that is not valid for site". I have taken photos straight away of my permit which was displayed, but the most ridiculous thing is that you can see my permit in the pictures UKPC have on thier own site, even though it is not clearly due to the angle and focus of the picture the "parking attendant" has taken it from.

At this point i am tired of getting parking tickets in the underground secure parking basement while using my own space displaying a permit that cost 40£. Any advice on the best way to deal with this, UKPC have no information about me apart from my Vehicle Reg No.

Thanks Ahead of time,

Arjun

What has the managing agent to say about this?

Why have they employed this firm to allegedly manage the parking in what is a secure environment?

Is it a gated car park?

What does your lease have to say about permits?

Why do you have to pay £40 to park in your own allocated space?

Have a read of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread to better understand the situation you have been sucked into.

displaying a permit that cost 40£.

Who did you pay, and which company name appears on it? UKPC? Or the Managing Agent?

You just need to appeal on day 26 as keeper, like everyone does (no implying the driver, so nothing about ''I displayed my permit'' nor ''when I came back and saw the PCN I took a photo'').

We hope UKPC then forget the postal NTK, as they almost always do, as that makes the win easy at POPLA.

See the NEWBIES thread for the appeal (day 26 online), and why it is important NOT to write your own.

UKPC are known fraudsters, read this

    and this

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences.

Parking Eye, Smart and a smaller company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (who take hundreds of these cases to court, and nearly always lose), who have also been reported to the regulatory authority.

The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

Good grief why on earth did you pay these fraudsters anything?

The theory in car park management is they are there to protect the car park from misuse not victimise legitimate users, but of course as you have found out they are greedy scammers!

Having paid them their charge, you'll be marked out for future 'treatment' (as you are now finding). In addition they could use the fact that having paid, you're accepting the contractual arrangements they are (purportedly) imposing on you.

Now more than ever you should now write to your MP, you have been scammed. Nobody pays a PPC for parking on residential land.
