After saying earlier that I was off to a slow start I came home from physio/rehab session to find the postie had delivered a £50 cheque for a comp win - am thrilled.

Distraught tonight. Our 9 yr old cat has been struggling to walk the past few weeks and the vets have struggled to find a reason for it. We had her in at the vets today for a spinal and chest scan, and the spinal scan confirmed she has some extra bone which is putting severe pressure on her nerves, and causing her inability to walk properly. Whilst she isn't making it obvious she is in any pain, the vets advise that she most likely is, and recommend that we make a decision very quickly as to what to do next - either have her put down, or have her referred for an MRI scan and likely spinal surgery. An MRI scan and spinal surgery will likely cost thousands, and we have no pet insurance...daft thing is, I was looking at pet insurance about a month ago, and then this happened. I really don't know what to do. My wife is of the mindset that its a heck of a lot of money for something that's not guaranteed to fix the underlying problem. That saddens me - she's not just a cat, she's OUR cat, and part of the family to me. Money isn't an issue for me, I'd have it paid yesterday if it made her better. I'm more worried about the stress and pain we may cause by prolonging the decision, and even proceeding with the surgery. Oh..and the vet bill today for the xray to go along with the bad news was over £350. Think this is the hardest decision I've ever had to make :(:(

Talking of money, I had a good win on the slots this morning. Found a £5 casino bonus in an old account I hadn't used for a while, which required 20x wagering. I ended up walking away with £164 profit :)

    £164.76 - slots
    £62.70 - matched betting
    £227.46 total

    Lots to report today:
    Citizenme 10p
    BeMyEye £13.50
    Roamler £11.27
    MB £41.15

Sat up with a baby with a very high temperature waiting for the Calpol to bring it down. He's finally fallen asleep again cuddled up to my leg, but can't sleep myself until I am satisfied it is going down. I think it's the pesky teeth again causing problems.

Mike that's a horrible decision to make. I love cats and my response to these things is always just to do whatever it takes and never mind the money. It's difficult though when it isn't black and white like this. Hope you work it out.
