Parking appeal rejection not relevant to ticket?

I received a parking ticket on 6th feb 2018 for contravention 26 - "parking in a special enforcement are more that 50cm from the egde of the carriageway and not within a designated space"
I received the response to my appeal today and it has been declined. However, on the rejection letter they stated that "your vehicle was not 50cm from the curb even though it was away from the Kurb" which I did agree on as yes I was further away that usual but not more than 50cm. This further away than usual parking was due to cars being parked on the footpath (which is allowed on this road) and you can double park down this road. The road does not have any bays marked out, no yellow lines and I have spoke to a parking warden about it aswell who stated its fine to park there. The letter then continued with "based on the fact that at the location, there is a footway parking exemption, which allows vehicles to park on the footway, you're vehicle would have been causing and obstruction to drivers wishing to access or exit the footway parking. And the vehicle was also causing an obstruction to the flow of traffic".
I feel this additional information is almost like another parking fine and not the one that I was initially given. It is also not stated that this is why I was given the ticket by the contravention code or description.
I park in the same place everyday for work and have never had a problem apart from this ticket. Do you think I should take this appeal further or should I pay while its discounted?
If I should appeal Hillingdon council has not included any information on how to further appeal it how would I go about this?
