Virgin Media Letter Default Notice

Hi,
After giving 30 days notice to cancel my Virgin media fibre broadband and sending back my equipment. I spoke to an advisor who said I would receive a final bill this was the beginning of January, today I was shocked to receive a default notice letter for £33.97. I immediately phoned them and paid the balance in full, but now I'm worried that this will effect my credit rating
was told by the advisor on the phone it won't be registered on my credit file as I had paid it off within the 14 days but I'm not too sure after googling it. I think this is very bulling from virgin after just over one month which could ruin me getting a mortgage on my first house! Can anyone advise if I'm in the clear?

Check your credit files.
I doubt they've issued a default after one late payment.
Are you sure they letter states it's Defaulted?0 -
It states "Default Notice - served under section 87 (1) of the consumer credit act 1974 that is the balance of £33.97 this was my final bill for January I could only imagine this letter is a error? Either way still doesn't put my mind at rest if this is going to be recorded on my account. I have checked the credit club Experian nothing showing on there yet!0

you wont have a default, but bet you have late paymentsDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

"Some creditors or lenders may not report late payments until they're 60 days past due. ... Some accounts may not report late payments to the credit bureaus at all. For example, your utilities and cell phone late payments probably won't go on your credit report unless you completely default on the account."
I guess it depends if they report it to credit reference agency's0
