Had a home visit booked for tomorrow, Capita rang at 6pm to say they couldn't make it as someone's off sick !!surely they could have rang earlier in the day.
Husband had booked the day off and can't change it at this late hour so a wasted day. he's also now got to try to book another day off for the rearranged appointment, not to mention the stress this has caused me.
If I left it this late i'm sure I would be penalised.
Anyone else had this happen?

Unfortunately people can't plan when they are going to get sick. They may have rang late in the day but maybe the person that was doing the assessment didn't ring in sick till late theirself. They maybe assessment providers but they are still human.

It may not have gone ahead anyway, as much of the country either has snow forecasted or will have snow tonight.

Hopefully the next one will go ahead.
