How do I get compensation from Virgin Media

We have just changed from Sky to Virgin 3 days ago and asked them to port our landline number. They admitted that they forgot to do this and Sky have now released the number back to BT.

Sky say the only way to get the number back is to take out a new contract with BT. Virgin customer service don’t care and say that managers don’t take calls. How can we escalate this complaint as this is going to cost us money to get new stationery printed.

TIA

Lolly

You insist on registering a complaint with Virgin and ensure you get a complaint number.

I think the point being made is that if it were a business contract, there may well be set compensation levels for loss of number.

If you are just on a residential contract then all you would get, if anything, is a goodwill gesture which may not even cover the cost of new stationery.

I would say mention to them that it is a charity and every penny is vital, but then on the other hand they may say you should have taken out a business contract rather than residential and it could cause them to help less!
