What sort of heights are you talking about?0

Not always a good idea to cut from ladder or steps....
But, if you do need to, strongly fixing a plank or bar acrossways at the top bells support it on the flexible hedge.
Other than that... No recommendation!0 -
I use 2 work benches with a scoffold board as a walking plank (2 scoffold boards would be better giving wider area for your feet0

Henchman tripod ladders.
I have two sets - I'm a gardener, and they are light, stable and designed for jobs like hedge cutting.
Buy a set with adjustable legs, much better.0 -

That's what I was going to say.....honest! :rotfl:0 -
I have had a henchman histep for about 8 years now, bought second hand and it's still in perfect nick, no damage or parts needing replaced at all.
But, for the OP they may well be too expensive. So, what height, width and depth of hedges are you talking about?
I do use my straight ladders a few times a year for those 20ft high hedge trims and to get to the upper parts of small trees for safe felling.0 -

There isn't another answer is there!0 -
Yes another vote for the henchman - we have had ours for at least 18 years and they are still in great condition - I wouldn’t be without them for the hedges0

You can try to use 16ft+ Step ladder for Cutting hedges0

Do the Henchmen have true steps like a proper step ladder or just rungs ?
I have a set of those four way folding ladders with removable stabilising bars - they have rungs and they're downright annoying as I can't use them anymore
Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?0
