Company Director - Fraud

I am not sure if this is in the correct board but I'll give it a go.

I was searching my name on the companies house website as I am just about to register my company so wanted to see if the registration was coming up yet.

However, when I searched, my name did come up but for a completely different company that I have never heard of and a registered office which is in London but not near where I live. Of course someone could have the same name as me but the date of birth is also the same!

I imagine this must be some sort of fraud but not sure if it is something to worry about now as the company was dissolved back in 2011. I googled the company and it looks like it has cropped up 3 times over the years with different variations of the name.

Should I be concerned. Should I write to Companies House?

Unless they're also using your address, then I'd suggest it's just a coincidence.

I did think that at first but the company was struck off under section 1000. There are also 3 other companies with the same name but different directors each time which have all dissolved for the same reason.

You will be surprised how many people have the same names and birthdates . Also lots of companies are struck off / dissolved plus various other reasons for no longer trading , very few will be sinister .

Yeah probably nothing sinister. I just thought I had a unique name, perhaps not!

I did call companies house and they said because the company has been dissolved there isnt much they can investigate. It was a few years back and nothing has come about from it so will probably just ignore it.
