Evening foxholes
I haven't had my heating on for 13 days now! I go to bed with 2 hot water bottles at the moment, perfectly warm and cosy
I did 3 loads of washing yesterday as i was WfH and the weather was lovely so i wanted to make the most of it.
I have just had to fill up with petrol and was excited that it was below £1.60!
Thanks to someone on your diary, i decided to cash out my PA survey earnings so far - just received £56
Did loads of surveys yesterday and earned £10 but have been working in the office today so only managed one this eve.

When we used to record TV programs I was always the one to set up the video player (back when they were a thing) or the digital recorder (date, time, right cable right hole) and program it, do the updates etc. but OH still took over when it came to selecting what we watched 😂QueenJess said:Well just to break the mould, I am the one in charge of all the recordings (don’t watch anything live), the TV remote and what we watch. There is no channel surfing here.
DH set up a new remote as the old one died and then said it would not work with the TV as there was an error. So for months he insisted you had to use one remote for the Sky box and the other for the volume control and to turn the TV on and off, which was really irritating. When I recovered a bit from having DD I took a look and solved the problem in under 10 mins 🙄. That’s why I’m in charge 😂Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Mr SA is a remote control hog. I never get to see any adverts as he flicks through the channels as soon as one comes on. He also takes a painfully slow amount of time to get back to the channel we were originally watching via 100 other channels meaning we often miss a huge chunk of it 😬 He also keeps the volume really low so it’s only just audible which is very annoying. If I complain he claims it’s my hearing but DS has also commented on the low volume.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7

I have the opposite problem with the volume. Mr LH is somewhat deaf as he has bad tinnitus so I often get deafened depending on how bad it is. He gets first dibs on the remote in the evening and is documentary obsessed. I rarely get to wacth dramas etc.Sun_Addict said:Mr SA is a remote control hog. We find the volume needs to change dramatically for different channels. We moan a lot about people mumbling on the TV, many years ago we turned the subtitles on to support our children learning to read which helps. We often find the background sounds are louder than we want and the voices are quieter than we would like.Sun_Addict said:He also keeps the volume really low so it’s only just audible which is very annoying. Our remote control ownership is first come first served. If OH gets it we have to watch things about opal miners, ice road truckers, car restorations and programmes about the universe. It's quite important to get to the remote first 🙃7

Personally not fussed about the remote as I am usually reading but I do find it irritating when oh puts the menu on screen and then falls asleep. All that clutter used to be money6

My DH doesn’t hog the control but puts the tv on then doesn’t watch it. Can even put it on and then read his book. With bills increasing he did mention the other day about not leaving lights on and trying to use less electricity and gas. Also will sit there in a T shirt shivering. Perhaps I should tell him to put on another T shirt.xx:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.005
