Lol.  I remember trying to hide pills in food for our cat when I was a child.  Everything was licked clean with the pill remaining in the bowl.  She was also very adept at hiding the pill when my mum tried to effectively throw it in and wait for her to swallow.  My mum would check and could see no pill in her mouth, then hours later would find it discretely hidden on the floor behind some furniture!

It’s the same with dogs hiding in favourite food he still refuses then refuses to eat his favourite food even without the worming tablets for days until he is certain we are no longer trying to trick him. Clever things these pets

I put the dog’s worming tablet inside a tiny ball of peanut butter, so sticky she can’t spit it out, works every time.

I react to sorbitol so ensure my peanut butter is free from it. It is a tiny tiny amount she has only when the worming tablet is due so on very rare occasions and as recommended by the vet.

@ladyholly - I've never seen sorbitol appearing on the ingredients list of any of the peanut butter brands we buy, but we tend to prefer the brands which are pretty natural or just ground up peanuts. Like @Sun_Addict, I too have a reaction to sorbitol & tend to check the label of anything I think might possibly contain it. I didn't know it was poisonous to dogs.

I think it's probably the cheaper peanut butter brands that has sorbitol. I don't like peanut butter so have never checked but it has been flagged on a dog site I am on.
