Out! Out with the tooth! You will feel so much better once it’s gone. But whatever you choose to do, I wish you a pain-free and speedy recovery'In the widening gap between credits and debits hangs a question: What parts of this life are you willing to give up, so you can keep on living?'

Hello Frugal Diary Readers,
Haven't felt much like posting - the devil tooth took a big turn for the worse & there have honestly been times I have sat on the sofa just trying to breathe through the pain, smacked up to the eyeballs on codiene, alternating ice packs with a hot water bottle on my cheek. Until now, I've been able to bite on the sore tooth but this morning, I chomped into my toast & peanut butter & almost exited via the ceiling! Phoned the surgery to see if my dentist is working tomorrow......you have to do the 8.30 a.m phone scramble on the day for emergency appointments.....& was told there had just literally been a cancellation in the last couple of minutes, so they were able to book me in properly for tomorrow morning. I absolutely can't go on like this. As my best friend said, if the pain was going to settle, it would have done so by now. Feeling proper sorry for myself.
OK....because there are other subjects in the world apart from teeth......I did get my old strawberry bed cleared. By my calculations, I can house 53 strawberry plants in my new growing space, so I potted up 12 spare runners for my sister, then all the leftover ones for Mr F's b-in-l. I don't need to buy anything to set up the new growing space & was able to spread the planty love to 2 more people. Am off the blocks with this year's seed sowing - 2 types of chilli sown yesterday & also penstemons - I saved the plastic containers from blocks of tofu & they have made perfect sturdy little free seed trays - now in my little heated propagator. Have now bought all the seeds I need for the year ahead.
Did meal plans last night & we've been over to the nearest city centre to do our grocery shopping at a supermarket we don't have in our town. Have prioritised meals we already have in stock plus a roast chicken, from which I have planned 3 meals plus maybe some soup, I'll see. By the way, the big batch bolognese I made this week from one of my slow cooker books was lovely. I'm glad I halved it, as a half quantity pretty much filled our slow cooker - there must be some colossal ones around if they can take double that amount! Anyway, we froze the 4 leftover portions & we'd definitely make that recipe again. I liked the idea of removing the lid for the last hour, turning up to 'high' & simmering to reduce & thicken the sauce. I don't know why I haven't thought of doing that before. Am going to use the slow cooker more often, during the coming energy prices storm, as it only uses about the same as a light bulb.
Well, I've done some surveys, paid an invoice & Mr F says it's his cooking night. I need to keep calm & not overthink the dentist situation, so I think I will do my piano practice, finish my book, enjoy choosing my next one & knit some more of my yarn stash project.
Soot & Ash are doing brilliantly well & are very amusing. Soot is one of those cats who could probably hear a pouch of fishy stink in jelly being waved from across the other side of the Midlands. They had both been in the Rescue for a long time & Ash living rough for several months before that, & it is clear to see how much they are enjoying having a new home. Ash has almost certainly been ill-treated in the past. He isn't actually scared of people - in fact, he loves a fuss - he's scared of being approached by people, which makes me think that approaches in the past have not all been good or kind ones.
Now let's see how much of my Heller 'Etude' I can play through before I have to apply another ice pack to my jaw. Roll on tomorrow (I think........)

I'm sorry that your mouth is so sore foxgloves. Don't worry about having the tooth out, it's not as bad as you think. I've even driven myself home afterwards. I'm thinking that there may be a course of antibiotocs in your future though. It sounds a lot like an abcess?5
