Lol, @Onebrokelady - I actually looked for them in two shops this morning & there were none to be had! Not only did they start getting a bit sort of 'brexitty' a couple of years back with the removal of the walnut (surely an indictable crime in itself!), they now seem to have semi-disappeared. I haven't seen either version recently, so am assuming they are maybe made elsewhere & are sitting in that massive backlog of shipping containers at Felixstowe aka absolutely MILES away from Yours Truly. I suppose at least if they are, then the calories are also safely contained & not available to walnut whip piglets like me. Small mercies, I suppose.
Could still fancy one though.
Actually two.
One to scoff, then a 2nd to eat v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y dipping out all the filling with my little finger & saving the thick bit of chocolate on the base till last to eat with the walnut which I always piggle off.

They do, @Sun_Addict, but there seems to be a lack of them around here atm, so I hope you can find one!

Hi Sunday Savers,
Well Mr F has just announced that he's making lunch, so I'm having a sit-down. Another weekend of furniture moving for us. Decorator back tomorrow to finish the painting - landing, hall & stairwell. Later in the week, we also have someone coming to skim a section of floor & fitters to lay the new vinyl in the the conservatory & lobby. It's going to be a bit of a weird week. I won't be able to keep popping up & downstairs while decorator is busy up high ladders so I am planning to bring a selection of jobs/projects I could usefully be getting on with downstairs. I like to keep busy. I can't bear hanging around like a spare part & am unfortunately not the sort of person to take the opportunity to catch up with wall to wall box-sets. I expect the week will pass quite quickly once it gets underway & if the weather's dry, I've tons to do in the garden.
Have been turning the subject of Savings Pots over in my mind, so will be spending some time running figures on those too.
Stay dry, m'dears,

......in fact, have just given up my piano practice efforts for the day, because over-thinking the minutiae of 10 savings pots at the same time as tackling a tricky Chopin mid-section isn't a good mix! Decorator now not starting until Tuesday morning, so I shall have plenty of calculator-filled hours tomorrow if I so desire.

Afternoon Campers,
Weird sort of day today. I think it is because I am still trying to get as many 'things to do' & stuff I need downstairs as possible so I have plenty of stuff to do while the stairwell is out of action. So far I've got a family history project to finish - can do that at the dining table, socks to finish, another pair to cast on (for the presents bag), a bit of preserving to do, plenty of gardening if it's dry, piano practice, as well as all the usual household-running jobs as long as they are downstairs.
I will also run various figures regarding our Savings Pots & savings generally - I wanted to do that today but have spent longer than I thought sorting out a new home insurance provider, & it also took a while fetching two loads of laundry in off the whirlygig & getting it all onto the heated airer. Have baked bread too. No effort required for tonight's meal as Mr F made enough lovely butternut macaroni cheese yesterday to feed us for two days.
Re home insurance - I hadn't particularly intended not to renew with our current provider - it wasn't a huge increase - but when I went through the documents to check all our details were still accurate, I found a couple of errors - one was our occupations & the other was a statement that we have no functioning smoke alarm - I don't know where they got that from as we've always had one & we test them too. Anyway, while perusing the cover details, I decided we weren't covered for a sufficient sum on our contents. As this made 3 things to ring them about (couldn't make the changes online), I thought I'd just have a look at another provider to see how they compared. Discovered I could get a higher level of cover, including a specific bicycle cover clause for out & about, for around £3.00 a month less than our old provider's renewal quote, so I decided to make the change. It's not a big saving, but the policy looks as though it will suit us.
It feels chillier today & the colder weather has brought in our usual autumn problem of mice! I think we are at the early stage of the onslaught, so much as I hate doing it, I have put bait boxes down before things get to the stage where they are getting onto our work surfaces. So far, they've chewed open a bag of porridge oats & two bags of flour. Some bait has been eaten, so I hope we can get on top of the problem before they get down to baby making. I think they come in through the airbricks & once they are in, they can run beneath the floors between ours & our adjoining neighbours' house. I have no fear of them......if they were spiders, I'd be losing the plot!
OK m'dears, take care,
F x

Just popping in to say, make sure you get the old provider to confirm you have cancelled and you are not on auto renew. I cancelled motor insurance one year but auto renew went through because of an error. ( I never knowingly agree to auto renew but it is the default with a lot of companies) However because I had phoned they had a record that I had said I wasn't renewing so they couldn't charge me for cancellingIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!4
