@crazy_cat_lady - Well you have definitely been inspiring me with your walking endeavours, as I know you have a dodgy ankle too. So I haven't been such a walking wimp this week & I aim to keep it up this month as long as ankle doesn't worsen. Actually, it seems a little bit better so I think a bit of movement is maybe good for it.

Glad to hear you are ok. I for one thoroughly enjoy your gardening tales and dont find them boring please keep them coming. I love a walk but have weak silly legs so have to limit myself but have bought a step counter and can manage 3000 steps if the wind is behind me!! hopefully with practice I can do a few more. Have a lovely weekend FS x3

Your diary is never boring. I too was missing your posts.4

Well, that's very kind of you to say so. As long as everyone realises that this diary is not likely to be filled with tales of hair raising excitement, that's fine. Hope I have not just issued Fate a handsome temptation. I'll probably be kidnapped by aliens tomorrow or encounter a talking courgette or the mystery poo saga will return for phase 2!

Hello Saturday Savers,
I feel I've had a really productive day today. My annoying ankle thinks so too. I've just slarmed it in ibuprofen gel & told it to shut up & have a rest. Mr F's cooking night, so I'm going to enjoy reading a few chapters of my book.
So, early into town for grocery shopping & I'm pleased to say that sticking to my tight list reduced our usual weekly spend by roughly half. Didn't want to spend on car parking or coffee shop today so just groceries & a brisk walk to choose some new make-up items. I had a voucher for £10 off a £20 spend & chose £27's worth, expecting to pay £17. However my items also qualified for a 3 for 2 offer so when I got to the till, I was charged just £10, which was a nice surprise.
Have also baked a sourdough, started off Mr F's blackberry whisky (birthday gift), done today's garden pickings (windfall apples, blackberries, 2 courgettes, 3 aubergines, french beans, tomatoes & chillies) & spent this afternoon cutting back & clearing a jungley corner of garden. Also did a load of laundry & have set another load on timer so I can peg it out for more free drying tomorrow. I'm feeling tired & achey now so apart from a bit more charity stall knitting tonight in front of the TV, I intend to do nothing whatsoever.
Peace,

Grrrrrr - just lost my post. Don't think I have the heart to re-type it atm.
Keep your hands on your pence, m'dears (as I haven't this morning!)

Hello Sunny Savers,
Well, I have been a saver today as one of the jobs on my town list this morning was paying this month's budgeted amount into the ISA. I can't find any alternative uses for it while it's in there, can I, so best thing for it. Main town job was returning samples to flooring shop, ordering new vinyl for conservatory & back lobby & booking appointments for measuring man to visit & also fitters next month. Another thing crossed off the Home Improvements project list when that's done - delays with both builders & decorating atm, so at least today I felt we've moved something forward.
Got the ironing out of the way asap so as to concentrate on moving a few more issues forward. Almost didn't bother ironing my 2 summer dresses as they will soon be going into storage till next Spring, but I decided that they could work as part of an autumn/winter outfit with the right layer over the top/accessories, so I did iron them & will investigate that when I fetch my warmer clothes out for sorting. I don't mind buying a new dress (in fact I'd love that, lol) but I am intending to keep reducing my weight slowly but surely & it might be more sensible to wait until I am a full size smaller. I bought a bigger size winter dress last year & it is now much too big on me so I don't want to do this again with another one. I shall enjoy experimenting with potential new outfit combinations when I get all my stuff out.
Today's garden pickings = 5 x courgettes, a lovely orange pepper & a basket of windfall pears. I also took Monty Don's advice & chopped all the jungley excess vines off the squashes so that the sun can get at the fruits better to ripen them.
Other tasks involved chasing things up - firstly something I ordered online 9 days ago & isn't yet even appearing on tracking. I've been charged, so have requested an update. And I've also chased up that naughty 'frog' as it looked suspiciously like it could be regurgitating itself again (I began trying to sort this problem out in early January!) but I think it will remain 'swallowed' as I spoke to the person concerned, discussed an alternative solution & tentatively agreed on a target date for the work to be done during the next fortnight. So all things considered, it's been a useful day. On the frugal front, I've tweaked the meal plans for a couple of nights this week so as to use up some more of our produce.
Well, I must crack on. I want to get my bag packed with everything but the kitchen sink for a bit of an outing tomorrow & decide what to wear. I wanted to put a pink tint on my hair too, but forgot to do a patch test so will have to wait until another time.
OK, that's me. Cheers m'dears,

Foxgloves, I'd forgotten that bloomin frog of yours. Hopefully it will be dealt with as promised.
well done on the weight loss - steady and slow is the sustainable way to do it (says me as if I'm an expert in weight loss 🤣)3
