@Onebrokelady - Yes, I was completely baffled by the sawing, but I bet @Tescodealqueen is right & it was the grippers.
I tried to lay a carpet once. My Mum was quite good at it, so I had a go myself in my old house with a carpet remnant. Oh my days, what a pig's breakfast I made of it!
The fitters have done a lovely job & compared to our ancient carpet which was well ready for replacing, it feels very bouncy underfoot.
F x2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!8 -

It was much needed @savingmore. We had thought all the home improvements work woyld have been finished by now, but the pandemic & our decorator's summer work schedule have slowed us down. The latter is ok though, as we will have more time to get all the upstairs rooms ship-shape before the lounge & stairwell phase. And we have lots of other house/garden jobs to be getting on with in the meantime.
