Thank-you, all of you. Happy New Year..... a better year, at least. Hope we see that vaccine getting jabbed into as many arms as possible, as that will be a step on the road back to Fairly Normal.
I still find it almost unbelievable that anyone finds my post LBM reformation inspirational. If anyone had read my runes in the 1980s, 90s & most of the 2000s & predicted that I would be not only completely debt-free, but also sharing debt-busting tips, I'd have fallen on the floor laughing!
Well, I've had a much better day today & have just started on the gin, so am getting my post on before I lose the ability to type coherently. I am usually singing after one drink & a sniff of the corkscrew, so am a very cheap date on every occasion, not just New Year.
Love & Peace to you all for 2021,

Happy New Year and hope there is no hangover. I, too, am a very cheap date. 1 glass of wine is more than enough.

Thanks so much for all your New Year wishes. They are, of course, all returned. Let's throw ourselves into 2021, despite all the current restrictions & anxieties, by accepting there are some things over which we still have some control, & getting on with those. For me, that will be my health & fitness (abandoned somewhere between the middle of Lockdown #1 & the builders), our home & garden (still lots to do), our finances (am definitely looking to maximise both savings & shopping from home this year) & overall, just using my time wisely, whether it be for leisure, relaxation, creativity or just properly prioritising everyday tasks.
A relaxing day today.... we watched a film, I finished reading my book & started a big Christmas jigsaw which we bought for Mum & Dad a few years ago. I'm now reading a magazine article called 'Why I can't stop snacking'. Hmmm. Have never been an emotional eater. I think I am just a natural pig!
Well m'dears. Into 2021 we go. Let's see what we can do with it.......
Peace,
F xx

Hello Diary Friends,
Not much to report today. Went into town this morning & managed to get everything on my short list except bird food...... no worries, we arw busy eating up leftovers, so our garden birds can do the same with all the odds & ends I have left in stock in their basket.
Nearly had to send for defibrillator after spending £47 on a humungous jar of multi-vits & minerals, but having stood in the shop & done the maths, it saved nearly £10 compared with buying the same amount in smaller jars. Treated myself to a couple of magazines, but my Personal Spends can well stand that, as I am hardly buying anything & won't really be going anywhere being with being in Tier 4.
Leftovers for lunch & I intend to attack the remaining twiglets later. Have enjoyed a peaceful meditative afternoon sitting in the conservatory with the stove on, watching the snow tuning the garden white, & doing more of my big Christmas jigsaw.
Plasterer phoned to say he's coming to make a start on Monday afternoon. This work has been delayed. Getting it done means we can plan the next stage of our ongoing home improvements plan which began last January. I still have a decent amount of money ring-fenced for the rest of the work, but I will feel more comfortable when I know how much it will cost.
Stove lit in the lounge. I'm going to light some candles now & cosy up for the evening.
Take care - town was practically deserted this morning. I think this new virus mutation may have induced a lot more folk to stay at home.

Hello m'dears,
The snow had all disappeared by this morning, though still a cold dreary-looking day..... so I didn't really look at it. I decided not to do any chores today - it's kind of the last day of the Christmas break, as Mr F is back to work tomorrow. I finished the Christmas jigsaw, enjoyed an exotic bath courtesy of one of the bath bombs I received for Christmas..... lovely - turned the water the colour of a very festive satsuma with swirls of gold dust. Rather felt I should have been off to a party after that, not finishing a jigsaw while troughing my face with Christmas cake & twiglets!
Despite my determination not to do any chores today, I have set myself up for a good start to the coming week. The Christmas crate is ready in the hall for me to take the decorations down tomorrow morning, I have a task ready to do in the back of the house away from the plasterer(s) tomorrow afternoon as will be observing strict social distancing & all our financial admin is sorted into piles ready for a budget-updating session on Tuesday.
Time to light a final batch of tealights in my Christmas candle holders, to enjoy the tree-lights for the last time until next December & to try not to dwell on all the stuff at the moment over which I have no control. I think aiming for a busy productive week ahead will be key.
Stay cosy,
F x
