We haven't had the promised thunder here yet😟 we have had some really heavy downpours of rain though. We jut got back from walking B and it chucked it down, I'm so glad it waited until we got back because neither of us took a coat 😀Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1207

We had rain all through the night and all day today.... so I done the ironing and done more of the jumper I'm knitting for dd2.. Still not heard anything about the flooring in our lounge. Totally fed up now. Need to find out who I complain to. Anyone have any ideas???.
Kitchen finished now just have to decide on the flooring. We have ceramic tiles at the moment. Thinking of a resin floor like our work tops or put level compound down then some kind of vinyl maybe... cant decide.
Apart from the wet weather I hope you've all had a good day?Mortgage free September 2021. Narrowboat brought October 2021

Yes, we did make up for it in rain today & yesterday, although garden still looks dry from the wind.
Pixiehouse55 - I don't know who to suggest you should complain to, but I do think it sounds as though your flooring problem has persisted for too long. Hope you can get it sorted soon.

Hello m'dears,
Today didn't go as planned.... well it did until about mid-morning. Had planned to go into town first thing to support local craft market, then to come home for coffee & biscuits and to skype my sister.......all of which I did. All the orher jobs I intended to do before lunch fell by the wayside when a small extremely thin dazed-looking cat wandered into our conservatory. He was tucking gratefully into a bowl of cat meat before I realised he was injured as well as highly likely to be a stray. Not a cat I'd seen before & we thought it looked like he'd been hit by a car as he seemed a bit wappy & his hips seemed displaced & sort of wrong. Phoned RSPCA for advice & was given a reference number to take him to the vet. We did that & of course he wasn't microchipped. Moved all my planned jobs to this afternoon & had just threaded up sewing machine to start the first one when our best friends phoned & said they'd driven out this way to get something from Waitrose & could they call in. Well it was lovely to see them as we hadn't seen each other since February. We had a proper catch-up & I was happy to declutter 4 spare plants & a big pile of magazines to them.
So by the end of the day, I had done precisely 1 planned job, & that was to sew a nice new cover for my sewing machine using leftover fabric from the recently completed chair & cushions. I did get that finished...... oh & I have loaded the washing machine for a cheap overnight wash. Everything else will simply have to be done tomorrow. I am hoping that I will bounce out of bed tomorrow raring to go. I am also hoping that this optimism isn't misplaced!
Hope there are a few people out there at least who have been a bit more productive than me today.

Nope,I've sat on my bum nearly all day 😀I just couldn't be bothered to do much today and the weather was very hit and miss, my washing was nearly dry though despite some showers.
Poor little cat,I hope he is ok 😟Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1209 -
Back in Scotland again, and raining here, so getting lots of jobs done in the house hopefully. Just baking a batch of Granola in the oven, smells delicious. Also got slow cooker on with all the veggie scraps simmering away for the day to make veg stock, hopefully use it for a nice risotto later in the week. Don't get paid till next week so planning meals to shop from home wherever possible. Have a good week everyone x6

Hope the little cat is OK?

I don't know, Chrystal. I don't like to bother the vets as they are so busy at the moment working with fewer staff than usual & all the human bits of their consultations carried out in the car park, regardless of the weather. I contacted a local cat rescue charity who have flagged him up on their page, plus shared it with other local lost pets groups. Poor little thing.

Greetings Frugal Friends,
Well here I am fresh from a hot bath & I can honestly say this is the first time I have felt warm all day! It seems crazy that only the other day we were moaning about the unbearable stuffy heat & it was way too hot to do anything.....yet guess what I am wearing? A pair of black 80 denier tights, for goodness sake!! (Not ONLY tights, of course, that would be a little bit weird even for this house!)
I haven't written a daily job list for absolutely ages. Today I wrote one......& wished I hadn't! I haven't done nearly everything on it, so rather than feeling pleased with myself for all that I've achieved, I found myself feeling deflated because I'd failed to finish it. I've just revisited the list & you know, there isn't any way I could have finished all of it in one day. I am an early riser (6.15 today) & cracked on as soon as I'd finished my breakfast, so that shows how unrealistic a list it was.
Anyway, I did achieve the following: Tidied the kitchen, baked bread, did rubber chicken (sufficient leftovers for chicken, chips & salad tonight & fajhitas tomorrow, plus a sandwich, some bits for the freezer for next time Mr F fancies constructing an Epic Man Stew & chucked the carcass in the slow cooker & made stock. Did 3 loads of laundry & pegged out - pretty much all dry, just a few big towels airing indoors. Weeded the climbing beans & tied them all in, then side-shooted & tied in all the tomato plants. Picked lettuce & spring onions for tonight's salad & another big colander of strawberries. Booked the plasterer for Wednesday afternoon & the fireplace team for Friday morning, dealt with Grimsby fish box which arrived this afternoon - fish now all portioned, labelled & in freezer - all the trimmings, as usual in a bag to make a big fish pie at some point. Looked out a pile of Mum's vintage hand-sewn patchwork cushions for refurb. Chose three to keep myself & three to send to my sister. Made tomorrow's packed lunch and watered & fed veggie garden. Took a basket of recycled materials down to the shed (bottle cloches, meat trays for using as seed trays, etc) & packed them away.
There were heaps more things on my thoroughly silly list which I didn't do, but I can do some of those tomorrow. I can tell I've been busy, my muscles are tight around my backside from spending such a long time upended in the bean patch & I have exceeded my daily step target of 7000 steps without leaving the house (apart from garden & to fetch our wheelie bin back from the kerb). I intend to watch TV & slob out tonight.
My Facebook memory today was all the funny naughty things our cat got up to on his 2nd day of moving in with us. It was nice to remember them, but awwww, it did make me miss him.
Hope everyone's got off to a good start to the week & stay safe.......that virus is still out there & there are way too many people behaving like complete d*ckheads. Be as careful as you can - that's what we are doing, although Mr F will soon be back working with the public, which is necessary, but a bit worrying too, as he often has to sort out conflict with groups of difficult people. Ah well.....,masks & visors at the ready.
Cheers all,

It looks like you could have a new little friend to take care of Foxgloves. They do say that you might choose a dog but a cat chooses you don't they? He's obviously heard what a good B& B you runCC1 Aug19 [STRIKE]£7587.85[/STRIKE] Aug 20 £0
