Just watched 'Shop well for less'.
Oh my days..........2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever
2) To read 100 books (36/100) 3) The Shrinking of Foxgloves 6.5kg/30kg

I'm sure I didn't imagine this...... When the 'swapped items' were left for the family to try, one of the presenters commented that the swapped aftershave the boy was given would save £30 a time. The lad clearly said he wears it every day for school. Eh? He didn't look older than about 9 or 10 at the most! Might as well go out & poke a few tenners down the drain!2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever

I think the road testing of the coffee is a by-product of the task of road testing the cakes! However, even I balk at the size and cost of some of these cakes! Thought I'm sure we could squeeze a budget category into our plans if absolutely necessary. Is it just me or do some shop bought cup cakes have way too much icing on them?0

Your not wrong Blackcats, they actually do and are often far too sweet for me. I love cake as much as the next person but we have a lovely independent cake shop in the village that makes them on the premises. However, the slices are huuuge and cost £5 each, such a shame as they are so rich that even I can't deal with it (did those words really just come out of my mouth?)and have stopped buying from there.CC1 Aug19 [STRIKE]£7587.85[/STRIKE] Aug 20 £0

There does seem to be a trend for these ridiculous cupcakes and huge, sweet tasteless creations that look stunning but Taste bleurgh
Give me a moist lemon drizzle or a simple Victoria sponge every time.
Talking of cake. Bake off is back next week
Any idea what the technical might be? The radio times says 'a retro classic with intricate decoration' its cake week....Outstanding mortgage: £23,181 (December 19)

Another one here watched "shop well for less" whilst tutting and shaking head in exasperation.
I like to watch this programme as I'm intrigued by others spending habits and I like the presenters but the programme doesnt give enough information.
The woman last night must be in a colossal amount of debt!!
Buying "stuff" at the rate she was doing was crazy. I like flowers......but I feel guilty treating myself to some if things are a bit tight. I dont really see how buying cheaper versions of things that they already have helps the situation either. They could go for five years or more without buying more stuff!!
I did feel sorry for the mother though when she was talking about her daughter being bullied.
I am so lucky that neither of my children were ever into designer things whilst they were growing up. Even now at 24 and 26 they are both very careful with money. Thats something they have got off me. Not their father!! :rotfl: Funny how things rub off without you realising.Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... I think Foxgloves should be commissioned to do a programme about how she manages to cook, sew, knit and grow and manage a budget. Now that would be something I would watch and would give useful tips to the viewers rather than the sometimes obvious things on that programme.

I'm another voting for Foxgloves presents
We enjoy watching eat well for less as a family. The children often come up with suggestions for the families. It also shows them the benefits of all the things we do meal planning, shopping lists, freezer inventory. We borrow the accompanying books from the library and made quite a few dishes.
I love the idea of going out for cake, but more often than not I am disappointed by the selection as many of the cakes are dismissed due to excess icing.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
