Hi there
21 years ago my dad bought a house, he wrote me a letter out and said I owe this to you for the things you have done for me. He has never lived in the house or stayed overnight at anytime. This is my only place of residence as I gave up my council flat and moved into the house. I’ve maintained the property. My dad said to put the property in my name. Would I have to pay cgt? Or should he put it in his will now( my dad is 93) and I pay inheritance tax? Or should I get my name on the deeds? What would be the cheapest option for me ? Thanks
