It was always too good to be true with all the refer a friend £50 offered (was £100 for a short time.)0

In fairness to Bulb, this was trailed by them a couple of months ago as a possibility. The recent increase in the pre-payment cap by Ofgem was enough to encourage me to switch to a fixed tariff until the market settles. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I did that as well, moved from Scottish Gas to Bulb, it looks like going back to SG through the energy club will cost me the same as Bulb's increased prices.
How long before SG's fixed till March 2019 runs out?
I wonder if my smart meter will become smart again?over 73 but not over the hill.0 -
Only switched to Bulb 2 months ago. Just had the email saying prices will increase by 2.8% meaning an increase of £2.20 a month
No immediate rush to switch again, will give it a few months.0 -
remember your direct debit payment each month is not ur overall usage, so these latest price increases will increase your bills in the coming months, and by more than £2.20 each month
try a comparison if you havent already as the bulb prices have been updated into them to reflect the new increase0 -
Is this the start of all the small suppliers beginning to increasing their tariffs as they can no longer obtain supplies for less than the big six and still maintain their profits?0

I suspect that all suppliers will increase their prices. This is what Bulb has had to say about it:
Quote: Since July, wholesale energy and government policy costs have gone up by £63 per year for a typical home. However, Bulb has found efficiencies and cost savings of £39, allowing us to keep this price increase to just £24. Unquote
Ofgem has also approved a c.6% increase in the prepayment cap so my guess is that suppliers will use this to increase the tariffs by up to this amount. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
