Shark Vacuum cleaner

Bought a Shark vacuum cleaner around 23 months ago.
The brush roller stopped working a week or so ago - I made sure there was nothing obvious stopping it from spinning then gave their customer service number a call 5 days ago.
Got through to a human (with ? an American accent) quickly who asked me to perform a couple of quick checks.
Within a few minutes my details were being taken and a prepaid label emailed for me to print & send the old machine back to them.
I dropped the machine off at one of their (DPD) collection points the next afternoon - the location of which just happened to be the Currys I had originally bought the machine from.
This morning a complete brand new machine (newer model as the old one is no longer available) arrived at my gaffe.
I'm not even sure that I had registered the 5 year warranty with Shark for my machine when I originally bought it.
Well done Shark.

They are an American company.
So is Asda but I've haven't encountered many staff who have a Texan drawl there ;-)
I think what I was trying to say was that the Shark support line staff member I spoke to didn't appear to be UK based (although a bit of an assumption and probably irrelevant). Was it really "everybody" that was Kung Fu fighting ???0 -
Not really the same thing. Other than a registered office in Wakefield and possibly a distribution hub somewhere, Shark are entirely based in the States. It could well be they have a customer care overflow service that gets routed to their American call centre(s) when busy, or it could simply be one of their US staff working out of the UK, or it could be totally unrelatedSo is Asda but I've haven't encountered many staff who have a Texan drawl there ;-)
