Painting concrete fence posts

I have a new fence with wood panels and concrete posts, ugly as sin. Can I spray the posts with Cuprinol wood stain? Or is there a better way to colour them?
Also the neighbour was told wait a year before staining the panels. Anyone know if that is a good idea?

Personally I think concrete pretending to be something else is even worse than concrete! Leave them, they'll weather.
I also wouldn't stain the panels, plants are for colour, the fence is just the background.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0 -
I was asked to paint some concrete fence panels, and found red and black paint at Toolstation. Meant to be used on door steps. This should do the job. I do not know of other colours, but I did not delve further because the customer changed their mind.0

We've used Cuprinol Garden Shades on the fence and the concrete posts - all blends together nicely.0

Most people round here paint them white, looks a lot cleaner.
I agree with essex exile, making concrete look like wood makes it look worse than concrete.
Definitiely wouldnt use wood stain on concrete, the splatters on ours look like blood stains and dry a different colour to the panels. Garden shades is a good shout, much thicker paint and a good range of colours.
For me it would be PBW masonry paint though, if i ever get round to doing it....0 -
I will stain the panels as I like the look of stained wood, the side fences are stained anyway. As for concrete, I just find bare concrete ugly. I'm not keen on painting it white, or black, I prefer something more natural and discrete, just personal taste of course.
I will look around and see how the panels and posts weather but I suspect concrete does not change much. We've used Cuprinol Garden Shades on the fence and the concrete posts - all blends together nicely.
Thanks, I'll probably do that. I looked at their website and they confirm that it will adhere to stone.0
