The best food at a competitive price

I have 5 cats (left with "custody" following a divorce) & they are my world, they've been my constant through my adult years (from 19 to 33 and the divorce happened in the middle). They're all between 12 and 14 years old and now they're old/decrepit they're in need of a particularly good quality food. One has developed a particularly sensitive stomach, another has started aggressively over-grooming that I believe is due to a food allergy. Another has had a recurring cystitis issue that I have to watch carefully, by her not eating dry food - but that's an easy one.
I could give the over-groomer anti-allergy food and the sensitive stomach suitable food too, but I feel I should give them all a good quality diet. Not just in response to illnesses/ailments in old age.
All the foods that seem to be 'good' are £1+ for a small tin, which would be between £5-10 a day for the 5 of them. Being on my own, I just couldn't afford that cost.
Is there any way to offer my cats quality at a lower price? Trying to find bulk discounts isn't really bulk for 5 cats. Boxes of 44 pouches doesn't even last a week... but I can't seem to buy in "proper" bulk. Is there a wholesaler for pet food?! I'm a member of Costco but they only do Felix and Whiskas pouches which are poor quality overall.
I used to work with someone years ago who had 7 cats and she registered as a breeder/rescue to get food discounts. Does this exist? All the cats were rescues back in the day. I couldn't say no to their sad faces.
I just don't know what to do that's best. I would love to hear thoughts or suggestions on the topic.

I personally haven't done this but would you consider making your own car food? I'd speak with a vet about this beforehand and introduce it gruadually, you need to ensure the right balance of vitamins / minerals etc but you will then 100% and be able to control what goes into their diet. You can bulk cook and freeze too. My friend has a dog who has terrible skin allergies, once she switched to cooking his food from scratch all these cleared up. Could be worth looks into.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

No need to cook cat food.
If you're on Facebook check out cat cr ap it's advocating raw food .It tells you how to make your own and how to balance it.
Cats have no need of the fillers etc that is in manufacturing cat food, I feed around 125gram a day for my 1 cat. I buy raw online frozen from kiezebrink, I pay 3.50 a kilo but last 6 days. It can be done really cheap with YS meat and made yourself. but there are many others the pet butcher etc. Just Google .Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0
