A conspiracy? Please do not be silly. She has worked hard and achieved something positive. All you see are the negatives.
What if interest rates go up, do you know she cannot afford a mortgage? The rate would have to go up quite a lot to make the house cost more than a rent. Maybe she has a 5 year fixed rate? Where is this?

Anyone in the north who claims they cant afford a house is either being overly fussy or needs a good hard review of their lifestyle0

I'm very happy for her. Good for her for working hard and getting on the ladder.
However what does grind my gears a little is where she says her parents never paid a bill for her. Unless she was renting, I presume she lived with her parents.
I can only also assume that her parents were not charging her full rent and bills, therefore her parents subsidised her and did, in fact, pay her bills. There is nothing wrong with this at all and its good that parents can help their children this way, but she is basically saying she had no help, when in fact she did.0 -
Good for her, my son and his wife to be bought a house in a city with a 35 minute commute to London. It can be done. Neither have well paid jobs but my son is a saver; he never went out drinking etc (actually some might say he's tight. :rotfl:)0

Has she not realised it's a conspiracy? Now she's got a huge mortgage round her neck as opposed to a lifetime of unpaid rent. What if interest rates go up?
I have always said that homeownership is not for everyone. When you compare the likes of middleaged TheCountOfNowhere to this fine young lady it is clear which one has the sheer balls to make something of their life instead of eternally bemoaning their lot in life. In other words, TheCountOfNowhere is more snowflake than many of the snowflake generation. Gud times. :j:beer::T:rotfl::p0
