There's a certain irony in the fact that particular one would almost be better gravel-filled than grassed...

But it wouldn't match the lawn, then, would it, AdrianC? I nearly spelt your name AdrainC; sorry, must have been a Freudian slip.

As Thrugelmir says, put a plant pot/small, solar-powered water feature/gnome on top of it! I've never heard such fuss over a manhole cover and as for the w/m and d/w being the wrong way around... On second thoughts, don't put anything on top of it; you might have to <gasps> move it.:D:cool:

Maybe a little off-cut of astroturf would not be too heavy for you; of course, unless you weighted it down, it would blow away. Paint the manhole cover green?

Crikey I didn't realise people lead such sad lives. Thanks for your input...
  • This is our first time buying as stated, i'm not being critical and am fully aware they need to go somewhere. However it has not been stated in any earlier plans at all.
I was reaching out to those with any experience as there may be something we could do / get back.

Compensation for a manhole cover's presence? And you call other people sad? Whatever.

Do what exactly?, all the houses I've ever lived in or owned have had manhole covers slap bang in the middle of the garden except one which was weirdly, under the fence dividing the gardens.

"Get back" .....Compensation culture, at it's finest.

Our grass grew nicely over a manhole cover in the garden without us doing anything. We knew where it was so no issues.

Typical snowflake generation response. Good luck in your new home, OP. Heaven forbid a tap washer should go! Make sure you claim compensation.

For most people it's just one of those things. More important matters in life to worry over.

Erm, yes? I have literally zero experience, for all I knew this could be something that happened very rarely and that they should have let us know about prior. Like I said, I was seeking peoples advice from experience.

Enjoy crawling around forums poking at people for the rest of your days, what a fulfilling way to spend your free time. Cretin.
